Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEMC/(MHEC)), chemical formula (C2H6O2)n, is a white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic fibrous or powdery solid. It is used as adhesive, surfactant, colloidal protectant, dispersant, emulsifier and dispersion stabilizer.
